Wow who would have thought that a leading comparison site has suspended energy comparisons. How can this be? The most likely reason will be the fire at the power converter station in Kent which has knocked out one of the two cables that transport power into the UK, from France. National Grid have stated that they expect this cable to be out of action well into 2022.
This has compounded the effect of already rising energy prices as a result of the sharp increase in the whole sale energy market which in turn lead to the increase in the energy price cap.
It is unfortunate that when you need to compare as a result of the energy increases low and behold you can't.
Energy providers have gone into meltdown, removing their tariffs from price comparison sites to protect themselves from rapidly rising energy prices. 5 energy companies have already gone bust.
So what does this all mean? Well in short it would appear energy companies are running scared of signing up any new customers.
Utility Warehouse (UW) are fully open for business and eager to sign up new customers to our great energy prices, whether its our value energy tariff which is one of the cheapest on the market or our double gold which is even cheaper. UW has never been on comparison sites and now it looks like others have decided they cannot be on there either but for totally different reasons.
